Essentially a stripped-down and off-road centric version of the civilian version G-Class, the W464 features an emergency override switch (EOS), a 24-volt on-board power supply, improved corrosion resistance, LED lighting, a snorkel, a solid front axle, and improved ground clearance, approach, breakover, and departure angles, as well as water fording depths.
The W464 is now powered by a 3.0-liter turbodiesel straight-six that makes 245 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque, all joined to a new nine-speed automatic transmission.
Available in two body types — SUV or extended-cab cutaway — the SUV is capable of a 2,200 lb payload with 7,700 lbs of towing while the cutaway version has a payload capacity of 5,512 pounds. Head over to Mercedes-Benz for additional information.
